It presents a revised system of codes and terms used in coding the topography and the histological image (morphology) of neoplasms. It stabilises the taxonomy of neoplasms on the basis of their histopathological and biological characteristics and facilitates standardisation of nomenclature. The publication amends the previous 2nd edition. The topographic part of the 3rd edition derived from Chapter 2 of ICD-10 remains the same as in the 2nd edition. Also the codes for biological behaviour and grading have not been substantially changed. Significantly revised is the part of ICD-O-3 CV dealing with morphology. | Abstract: | The publication presents the results of the questionnaire survey from the year 2004 named Sample Survey of the Health Status and Life Style of the Population of the Czech Republic focused on drug abuse. The survey was performed by IHIS CR in collaboration with INRES - SONES association on a sample of 3 526 respondents aged 18 - 64 years. The survey was realised on the basis of the European model questionnaire EMCDDA that was adjusted and supplemented according to comments of the NMS workgroup. Questions concerned socially pathological phenomena, i.e., negative effects in life style like illegal drug abuse, alcohol drinking and smoking, but also the overall health that includes both physical and mental condition. The results are presented in text form supplemented by tables and charts. |

For the sake of unification with data provided by international organizations the series is modified starting with the present 2004 issue in which data are processed on children born in the given year with congenital malformation detected in the same year or in the following years, up to 1 year of the child's age. Congenital malformations are reported on „Statistical statement - Congenital malformation of foetus or child“. Data in the publication are classified by place of health establishment, place of residence and age of mother, sex, kind of malformation, week of pregnancy and birth weight. Statistics is processed of numbers of children with congenital malformation as well as of numbers of malformations diagnosed in these children. |

Since 1993, data are provided by COSS and comprise 100 % cases (formerly only a 20 % sample processed by IHIS CR). Statistics connected with incapacity for work (IFW) differs from other surveys and statistics of illness by its close relation to economy. Data on IFW are classified by groups of diagnoses, sex, age groups, duration of IFW. Indicators are number of cases per 100 000 workers, average duration of 1 case IFW, and average daily state of incapacity for work. |
