2 new Topical Information were added In this topical information we describe the limitation of respondents for health reasons in daily personal care activities and in household activities. We also observe use of help with performing of these activities. The limitation in both types of activities was more frequent among women and among persons aged 75 and more. Some help (personal assistance, technical aid or housing adaptation) was used by half of those, who reported some difficulty with these activities. The Home help care services were used, during the last 12 months before the interview, by 4 % of respondents, the most frequent used ones were “meals on wheels” and transport services. Topical Information concerns preventive care. Analysis by age and gender is made from European Health Interview Survey data (EHIS CR 2008). We are pursuing vaccination against flu, measurement of blood pressure, blood cholesterol, blood sugar, and faecal occult blood test. Moreover for women we are pursuing also mammography and cervical smear test. Significant differences by gender were found only in blood pressure measurement in last 12 months - women experienced blood pressure measurement more often than men. Differences by age were found in all categories of preventive care. In general we can say that persons aged 55 years and more pay more attention to preventive care. We can also say that implementation of screening programs recommended by Council of the European Union is well aimed in the Czech Republic. |
