European Health Interview Survey in CR - EHIS CR (Mental health, vitality and cognitive abilities)

The topical information assesses the mental health and vitality of respondents using two aggregated indexes. These indicators describe worsening of mental health and vitality with age, except of transient improvement between 55-74 years. Women show worse mental health and vitality compared to men. Comparison of selected questions with results from 2002 and 1999 surveys shows improving trend of assessment of mental health and vitality. Also cognitive abilities are evaluated in the survey; any difficulties with memory were reported by 28 % of respondents, about 18 % of respondents reported problems with thinking. Both evaluations significantly improved if compared to 2002.
