Infectious diseases in the Czech Republic in 2007-2009

This Topical information presents data of the National Institute of Public Health on reported infectious diseases that proceed from Information System of Infectious Diseases (EPIDAT). This sum of infectious diseases has been completed with data from National Registry of Tuberculosis, National Registry of Sexual Transmission Diseases, National Reference Laboratory for AIDS. Beside this the mortality data on infectious diseases reported by the Czech Statistical Office and cases of bitten by dog are presented. In 2009 there were 127 thousand cases of infectious diseases, including 1 100 cases of dog bite reported to the information system EPIDAT. New table presents the data on infectious diseases among foreigners; there were 907 of such cases of infectious diseases reported in 2009.
