Abortions in year 2010

In 2010 the total number of abortions declined to 39 273. The number of spontaneous abortions decreased too from 14 629 to 13 981 and presents 35.6 % of all abortions. 72 % of all abortions in 2010 occurred up to 8th gestation week. The number of legally induced abortions declined to 23 998. Among women who applied for induced abortion till 8th week of pregnancy there was a largest number proportion of single, secondary educated and women with two children. Abortions of foreigners constituted 6.8 % of the total.
