Out-patient health care about patients taking psychoactive substance (alcohol and other drugs) in 2011

There were 39 033 users of addictive substances treated at psychiatric out-patient care facilities in 2011. Compared with preceding year the number of users decreased by 3 %. In 2011, 2 786 persons received substitution therapy in psychiatric out-patient facilities and 1 306 persons in general practitioners, which in total represent two-times higher number of patients in substitution treatment then is reported into the National Register of Users of Medically Indicated Substitution Substances.
