Activity of Speech and Language Therapy in the Czech Republic in 2011

Totaly 338 consultation rooms of speech and language therapy handed over the respective statistical records for the year 2011. Dyslalia, pronunciation or articulation disorder, was the most frequent disorder among persons in the age group 0 to 18 years with 49 % cases. Aphasia, loss of previously acquired ability to speak, occurred with 48 % cases among persons above nineteen years old as the most frequent disorder. The number of consultations have increased since 2007 by 15,7 % amounting to 1 005 936 consultations.
