In 2011 health care in hospitals in the Olomoucky region was provided to 2 564 foreigners with total costs of the respective health care 15.83 million CZK. Out of this number 1 726 treated foreigners were of EU citizenship. The most frequently treated patients were persons originating from Slovakia. The most frequent way of payment for health care provided to foreigners in respect of value was contracting insurance in the Czech republic and utilization of foreign health insurance. Outstanding debts after due date for health care provided to foreigners reached 297 tis. CZK at the end of 2011.
