Activity of health care institutions in the section of transfusion service in the Czech Republic in 2011

In total there were 130 reporting units involved in the data collection process in 2011 and the return rate of reports on activity was 98 %. Activity of health care institutions in the transfusion service section was ensured in total by 188.42 physicians and by 1 459.12 other health care workers. There were 1 008 thousand blood donations taken from 267 248 blood donors in departments of transfusion service. In total there were 411.5 thousand units of red cells, 36 thousand therapeutical doses of platelets and 560 thousand litres of plasma produced.
