Out-patient geriatric care between 2001 and 2011

Specialized out-patient geriatric care has been provided by 18.22 physicians and 20.42 paramedical workers with professional qualification. Approximately 70 ths. examinations were provided to 21.5 ths. of patients treated in geriatric out-patient care. The share of women in all patients has been stable during the last years and equals app. to 60 %. On average, there were reported 3.2 examinations per one patient and 12.9 patients per thousand inhabitants aged 65 and over. Between years 2001 and 2011 the number of patients increased by 53 %. The number of examinations per one patient decreased from 5.8 to 3.2 in the same period. The share of in-home examinations decreased from 21.2 % to only 0.6 % between 2001 and 2011.
