Incidence of tuberculosis in the Czech Republic in 2012

According to the TB Registry, in 2012 there were 611 cases of TB in the CR; of that 402 in men and 209 in women. The total represented 5.8 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants. In foreigners there were 105 reported cases. The most frequent form was TB of the respiratory system and of lung. Morbidity was highest (absolutely and relatively) in the oldest age group 75+. 22 persons died from TB. In international comparison the CR belongs to countries with low TB incidence in all its regions.
