Activity of general practitioners for adults in 2012

Primary care for adults in the Czech Republic as of 31. 12. 2012 was provided in total by 5 290 general practitioners for adults (in full time equivalent). Per 1 GP for adults there were on the average 1 632 registered patients and 7.4 thousand examinations. Per 1 registered patient there were 4.5 examinations per year. Preventive examinations represent 6.2 % of the total number of examinations. Provision of primary care for adults does not change markedly in long terms, but the age structure of physicians evolves unfavourably.
