Activity of institutes for infants and homes for children up to three years of age and other institutions for children in 2012

There were 33 institutes for infants and homes for children up to 3 years in the Czech Republic in 2012. Capacity of these institutes was 1 700 places and at the end of year there were placed 1 397 children. During the year 1 932 children were admitted, mostly for health reasons. 1 940 children were discharged, almost 51 % into their own family. More than quarter of discharged children spent in institute more than one year.
