Infectious diseases in the Czech Republic in 2010–2012

This Topical information presents data of the National Institute of Public Health on reported infectious diseases that proceed from Information System of Infectious Diseases (EPIDAT). This sum of infectious diseases has been completed with data from Registry of Tuberculosis, Registry of Sexual Transmission Diseases and National Reference Laboratory for AIDS. This report presents also mortality data on infectious diseases reported by the Czech Statistical Office and number of hospitalizations in the Czech hospitals according to the National registry of hospitalized persons. There were 127 thousands cases reported to the information system EPIDAT in 2012, which means that this number decreased by 1 % if compared to previous two years. There were 54 730 hospitalisations in hospitals and 1 617 deaths caused by infectious diseases (A00–B99) in 2012 in the Czech Republic.
