Activity of health care institutions in the section of transfusion service in the Czech Republic in 2012

In total there were 131 reporting units involved in the data collection process in 2012 and the return rate of reports on activity was 99 %. Activity of health care institutions in the transfusion service section was ensured in total by 184.19 physicians and by 1 407.68 other health care workers. There were 1 055 thousand blood donations taken from 267 340 blood donors in departments of transfusion service. In total there were 406.6 thousand units of red cells, 39 thousand therapeutical doses of platelets and 574 thousand litres of plasma produced.
