Inpatient care of patients with tick-borne diseases in the Czech Republic

The Czech Republic had reported 573 cases of tick-borne encephalitis in 2012. 625 cases were reported in 2013. 522 people were discharged from hospital with this primary diagnosis in 2012. 4,646 cases of Lyme disease were reported in the Czech Republic in 2012, 3,304 cases in 2013. 1,861 people were hospitalized with basic diagnosis of Lyme disease in hospitals in the Czech Republic in 2012. Vector-borne diseases are the theme of this year's World Health Day, which falls on the 7th of April.
