Abortions in year 2013

As in previous year, the total number of abortions slightly decreased from 37 734 in 2012 to 37 687 in 2013. The number of spontaneous abortions increased about 192 cases to 13 708 spontaneous abortions. There were 22 714 legally induced abortions in 2013, o. w. 4 350 cases were medically indicated. Menstrual regulations accounted 72.4 % of the total number of legally induced abortions. Especially single women, women with secondary education and women with two children mostly underwent induced abortion till 8th week of pregnancy in 2013. Abortions of foreigners accounted 5.8 %, there were 2 171 cases.
