Report on mother at childbirth 2009

Total fertility rate in the CR stagnates in this year; in 2009 it was 1.49 child per one woman during her reproduction period (1.50 in 2008). The heft of fertility is moving to higher age groups, the highest age specific fertility was in age from 25 to 29 years. Most mothers had secondary education and half of mothers were primiparas. There are continuous trends of increasing proportions of Caesarean section deliveries (21.7 %). The major part of mothers did not suffer major complications in pregnancy.
