Incidence of tuberculosis in the Czech Republic in 2011

According to the TB Registry, in 2011 there were 609 cases of TB in the CR; of that 434 in men and 175 in women. The total represented 5.8 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants. In foreigners there were 112 reported cases. The most frequent form was TB of the respiratory system and of lung. Morbidity was highest (absolutely and relatively) in the oldest age group 75+. 28 persons died from TB. In international comparison the CR belongs to countries with low TB incidence in all its regions.
