Activity of Speech and Language Therapy in the Czech Republic in 2012

Totaly 339 consultation rooms of speech and language therapy provided the respective statistical records for the year 2012. Dyslalia, pronunciation or articulation disorder, was the most frequent disorder among persons in the age group 0 to 18 years with 49 % cases. Aphasia, loss of previously acquired ability to speak, occurred with 48 % cases among persons above nineteen years old as the most frequent disorder. The number of consultations have increased since 2008 by 15,1 % amounting to 1 011 491 consultations.
